The Easiest Mixed Berry Smoothie

In the middle of the summer, it’s great to have a simple, healthy snack using ingredients you probably already have! Today I’ve got my go-to fruit smoothie for you. When I’m craving something fruity and sweet this smoothie is ready in under 5 minutes and totally hits the spot. I hope you enjoy!

Health Benefits of Mixed Berries

Mixed berries typically refer to a blend of commonly enjoyed berried such as blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. Some varieties may include strawberries, it really just depends!

I used Wyman’s Triple Berry that I picked up at my local grocery store. You can use any combination of berries that you like!

In general, berries are a great source of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and are full of antioxidants–compounds which are able to reduce free radical damage caused by things like the sun, air pollution, and some of our body’s natural processes! Free radical damage can cause inflammation–which has frequently been linked to many chronic illnesses.

So, in short: when dietitians and doctors suggest you increase your fruit and vegetable intake, that’s part of why 😉

This smoothie is a great way to get the USDA recommended 1-2 cups of fruit each day (note: this is the recommendation for adults)! This smoothie has 2/3 c of mixed berries and one whole banana–so it’s nearly 2 cups of fruit.

How to Make The Easiest Mixed Berry Smoothie

To make this smoothie, simply combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. You can add more milk (or some water) if you want a thinner consistency!

Enjoy immediately or store in the fridge for up to 1 day.
